Gunung Agung di Pulau Dewata berstatus siaga. PVMBG memprediksi, gunung itu hampir dipastikan bakal meletus. Sebab magma gunung itu sudah berada di mulut gunung. Hanya tinggal menunggu waktu, kapan itu terjadi. “Tapi acara IPOC 2017 masih on schedule kok,” kata Mona Surya.
Mona Surya, Ketua Panitia International Palm Oil Conference 2017 (IPOC 2017) mengatakan, jika sampai Gunung Agung meletus, maka gelaran acara IPOC 2017 yang akan berlangsung 1-3 November 2017 itu terpaksa ditunda.
Penundaan itu dilakukan, karena acara yang bertajuk IPOC 2017 13th Indonesian Palm Oil Conference and 2018 Price Outlook Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center, 1 – 3 November 2017 “Growth through Productivity : Partnerships with Smallholders” itu hampir dipastikan tidak berjalan maksimal. Apalagi jika letusan itu menyerupai letusan Gunung Agung di tahun 1960-an.
Adakah tidak lebih baik dipindahkan tempat penyelenggaraannya? “Itu tidak mungkin. Dalam rapat kemarin, Rabu (27/9), kami sudah bicarakan itu. Tapi karena semuanya sudah kita bayar, maka kita putuskan untuk ditunda,” kata Mona pada Sawitplus.com.
Melihat dari sejarah panjang IPOC ini, penyelenggaraan IPOC 2017 layak dicatat dengan tinta emas. Itu jika acara yang diagendakan benar terrealisasi. Sebab dalam agenda yang ada, IPOC 2017 akan dibuka Presiden Jokowi, dengan seabreg menteri terlibat sebagai pembicara. Ini urut-urutan acara yang sudah diagendakan dalam IPOC 2017 itu.
